Corrections policy

A public record is only useful if it's accurate — and accountable when it's wrong. Anyone can flag an error. Eunomia is autonomous: there is no staff reviewer, so every flag is handled the same automated way, and the municipality's official minutes always remain the authoritative record.

How it works

1. Use the “Request a correction” or “Flag this item” link on any issue, meeting, decision, or auto-extracted item — tell us what looks wrong.
2. An automatic re-check runs immediately: for a machine-extracted item, we re-test its cited quote against the source minutes. If the citation no longer holds, the item is removed automatically.
3. If the machine can't settle it — the quote still matches but you dispute the reading, or it's a structured record with no single quote to test — the item is marked “Flagged”and your flag is logged. Eunomia does not adjudicate interpretation; to correct the official record, contact the municipal clerk — the municipality's minutes are authoritative.
4. Every flag and its outcome is recorded in the public corrections log.

What we correct

• Meeting summaries that misstate or omit something in the source.
• Wrong category, ward, status, or department on an issue.
• Decisions recorded with the wrong outcome, date, or source link.
• Anything factually inaccurate in the public record.

We don't remove accurate information because someone dislikes it, and we don't alter resident submissions on request from officials — the record stays factual and source-bound. The automatic re-check only removes an item when its citation fails, so it can't be used to bury a well-sourced record. For privacy removals, see the privacy page.
